Its Speedy Tuesday, the moment you have all been waiting for This week, we have a numbered edition in store for you. It means it is not limited or a special edition, but a regular collection model with an individual number. Yong Wee from Singapore, one of our readers and fans of Speedy Tuesday, sent us photos of his much beloved Omega Speedmaster Professional ref. 3577.50 From The Moon To Mars watch. As you can see, this Omega Speedmaster Pro From Moon To Mars has three different sub dials. The Earth is shown on the sub dial at 9 oclock, the Moon at 6 oclock and Mars at 3 oclock. It also contains the wording From The Moon to Mars on the dial starting at 5:30 to 3:30 in modest writing. The fac [...]
Its Speedy Tuesday Our successful Speedy Tuesday Event that we organized on the 29th of October in ESA-ESTECs official visitor centre Space Expo led to a number of Speedmaster purchases. Even up till now we receive e-mails and notifications from people who bought a (new) Speedmaster as the Speedy Tuesday Event inspired them to do so. We are happy to hear these stories and some of them are rather special. One of the cool stories we got so far are the purchases of very beautiful CK2998 watches, a bunch of new Speedmaster Professional 3570.50 models, a 105.003 and an X-33. We have covered the Omega Speedmaster Professional X-33 before and although we think it is an ugly watch, the features and t [...]
Its Speedy Tuesday This weeks topic is about a very rare Speedmaster that you will will come across only seldom, the Omega Speedmaster Split-Seconds 3540.50 or Rattrapante. Introduced in 1999, this Speedmaster had an odd looking case and a carbon fibre dial and was the first Speedmaster with a rattrapante complication. Only few of these watches have been made during a short time span. There was even an Italian market-only model, with a blue dial. The regular version has a run of 5000 pieces according to some sources.Omega Speedmaster Automatic Rattrapante ChronometerThe version pictured above (photo credits Antiquorum) is the reference 3840.50, with a leather perforated racing strap. This Om [...]
Its Speedy Tuesday As you probably know and as its name really suggests, the Speedmaster was meant for those who were active in sports or better yet, racing cars. Long before the Speedmaster became the Moonwatch, the tachymeter and chronograph were actually used for timing car racing. Even today the Speedmaster collection has two pillars, one is the Moon program and making sure that new models have enough Moonwatch heritage and the other pillar is racing. Whether it is a dedicated Speedmaster Racing or a Speedmaster Professional that refers to its racing history, there is always a Speedmaster that refers to the original purpose of the collection. One of the dedicated racing models from the pa [...]
Its Speedy Tuesday For today we have again something special for you Speedmaster fans out there. As you probably know, Omega produced a number of mission patch models as part of 50 white suitecases with the Speedmaster Mission collection in 1997 (40 sets) and in 1998 (2x 5 sets). Each suitcase contained 22 Speedmaster Professional mission patch models, 1 57 re-edition (reference 3594.50) as well as a spare Lemania-based caliber 1861 movement. The model we have on Speedy Tuesday today is the Gemini V mission model, also featured in this suitcase.Omega Speedmaster Professional Gemini VThis particular mission patch model commemorates the Gemini 5 flight that was performed by NASA astronauts L [...]

Not only did we have our own way with Omega and the two Speedmaster Speedy Tuesday watches (in 2017 and 2018), Omega also introduced a number of interesting Speedmaster watches to the collection. What about the Speedmaster Calibre 321 from 2020, or the new Moonwatch Master Chronometer models in gold? Its Speedy Tuesday As you might have seen in our Speedy Tuesday Event report, Omega brought the original gold commemorative Speedmaster Professional BA 145.022 with them that belonged to astronaut Thomas Kenneth Ken Mattingly II. This Tuesday we discuss his gold Speedy that he and other astronauts received as a gift from Omega. Only 1014 of these Speedmasters have been made and even fewer were of course particularly for astronauts and other VIPs and have a slightly different engraving then the public models.?Thomas Kenneth Ken MattinglyKen Mattingly worked for NASA from 1966 to 1985 and flew on NASA missions Apollo 16, STS-4 (Space Shuttle) and STS-51-C (Space Shuttle).?However, perhaps [...]
It has not gone unnoticed that we organized a Speedy Tuesday Event for all those people who are passionate about Speedmaster watches. A lot of media announced the happening on the 29th of October and we have to say that were overwhelmed by the people who joined us for the Speedy Tuesday Event at the ESA-ESTEC official visitors centre, Space Expo. A BIG thank you to Omega who made it all possible for us to organize such a cool event. The Speedy Tuesday Event and the support from Omega on this has been the crown on our work regarding the weekly Speedy Tuesday articles. The Omega team making it all possible, special guest James H. Its Speedy Tuesday We all know the official Omega ambassadors that endorse the latest Seamaster, Deville, Constellation or Speedmaster watch. There is little fun in showing you these guys (or girls) here on Fratellowatches as you probably see them all the time in ads and event reports. As we did with the BMW head of design Adrian van Hooydonk a few weeks ago and with Porsche 911 nut Magnus Walker about a year ago, wed like to show you some real people wearing the Omega Speedmaster watch. As an example, we show you the watch of Dutch TV host Robert Ten Brink. With TV shows like All you need is love and Love is in the air, Robert Ten Brink connects (or tries to) people or re-unite them again wh [...]
Its Speedy Tuesday A few months ago, I wrote about the differences between the Speedmaster Professional (regarded as the Moonwatch) and the Speedmaster Reduced. We now have a similar watch to the Reduced, a 39mm automatic Speedmaster watch, especially for the Japanese market. However, where the original Speedmaster Reduced was equipped with a piggy back movement Omega caliber 3320, this Japanese Speedmaster reference 3513.53.00 has an Omega caliber 1152 movement, based on the ETA/Valjoux 7750.Where the Omega caliber 3220 movement is a piggy back movement (Dubois-D praz 2020 chronograph add-on module on top of the ETA base movement), the caliber 1152 or ETA/Valjoux 7750 in this Japanese marke [...]

The OMEGA Speedmaster CK2915!Just recently, I got in touch with a watchmaker by the name of Sampo from Finland. He mainly collects Omega watches from the 1950s and 1960s? and works for one of the Omega Service Centers. His main interest goes into the Seamaster 300 watches, Railmasters and Speedmasters from that era. Only two years ago he decided to go vintage and sold his new watches and bought a beautiful Speedmaster 105.012-66, Speedmaster 105.003-63, a Ranchero CK2990, Railmaster 2914-1 and two Seamaster 300 CK2913 models.? An incredible collection so far, but he recently added a Speedmaster CK2915 as well. The very first Speedmaster from 1957.Omega Speedmaster CK2915By coincidence, he fo [...]
Omega Speedmaster SchumacherIts Speedy Tuesday This weeks topic is the yellow Speedmaster Schumacher. Omega introduced the Speedmaster Schumacher? in 1996 and was in production till 1999.As you might know, the Speedmaster was originally introduced as a watch for race car drivers. Or wannabe race car drivers. The very first Speedmaster advertisements were also referring to this, as can be seen below:The Speedmaster Schumacher (case number ST175.0032 or ref.3810.12.40) was of course being introduced by their (then) ambassador, Michael Schumacher. His brother and also F1 car racer Ralf Schumacher was also an Omega ambassador at that time. Later on, Omega introduced another Speedmaster that [...]

Omega Speedmaster Pro DD145.0022It is Speedy Tuesday on this first Christmas day This week, we have something rare. A gold / steel combination Speedmaster Professional that dates back to 1981. A gold colored dial with gray sub dials and black hands. This Speedmaster Professional goes by the reference of DD145.0022.The bezel of the Speedmaster DD145.0022 is also made out of gold and the black aluminum inlay features gold printing. The bracelet is more familiar, it is a ref.1171 bracelet with 633 end-links. This surprised me as well, as I only knew this combination in stainless steel. Apparently, Omega just used the same machinery to assemble this gold / steel bracelet as they used for their 1 [...]
